We are very grateful to our visiting priests who have taken services during Fr Doug’s absence in January: Revd Anne Shaw, Canon Ken Boullier, our Rural Dean, and the Revd Martyn Pinnock. Thanks too to Joyce for doing ‘double duty’ at the organ! Our Christmas services seem a long time ago now, but huge thanks to our wonderful team of flower arrangers who transformed our church once again: and to everyone who made the whole festive season so special. The comments after the carol service were very much appreciated by members of the Roseland Churches’ Choir who supported the congregational singing and sang three ‘choir pieces’ . It is a lovely church to sing in, and Martin Davies did us proud on the organ.
Do not miss this very rare opportunity to see two great friends and music legends, Italian guitarist Andrea Dieci and Cornish lutenist Ben Salfield, team up for a performance of English renaissance duets played on classical guitar and 10-course lutar.
Nicola Jappelli and Matteo Staffini form one of Italy’s finest guitar duos. Performing on pre-Torres romantic (or parlour) guitars, their repertoire of late 18th and early 19th century music by composers such as Paganini and Sor has received acclaim Europe-wide.
Due to a fencing related injury, unfortunately this concert had to be cancelled.
The inaugural series finishes with a high-octane concert of Flamenco and World Guitar by the ever-popular Jon Salfield, in duo with renowned percussionist Simon Stanton. The pair, who also appear in the trio Horsemen of the Apocalypse, have performed at leading venues and festivals across the UK and Europe. Wednesday 18th November 2015 @ 7.30pm Veryan Parish Church
