News June 2016

June is the month when we ask our readers to rally their friends and family to find lots of goodies for the church fête in July, and to keep the date free!
Contacts for all the stalls will be in our July issue. This is our major fund-raising event for the year, so we are grateful for whatever support you can
give. Organisers Margaret [501256], Helen [501458] and Christine [501727] will be happy to advise!
We’ve also been invited to provide teas at the ‘Open Gardens’ day at Crugsillack on 17 July: if you can spare a few hours to help, please contact
Margaret [501256].
And even more help needed, please! The very successful series of concerts arranged for our church by Ben Salfield, and featuring internationally
known musicians, continue this year in July, September
and December. Until now Fr Doug has been responsible for much of the arrangements [tickets, promotion, hosting on the night] but he
will not be around for the remaining concerts this year.
If you would be happy to help with one or more of the concerts
– dealing with bookings for tickets, or distributing posters,
or sorting out wine and glasses beforehand, helping on
the night with refreshments, tidying up, etc., please contact
our PCC secretary Sarah [500950] – you don’t have to
do it all! It makes life so much easier if we have a good
team to organise and run the events.

And the next Veryan International Series’
concert on 29 July promises to be something
‘completely different’! It would be good if someone
could promote this and sell tickets at the fête!
